With his tour in full effect, Bobby Bare, Jr is getting little bit of press. Here's a Cleveland paper's lowdown on Bobby and crew coming to town. Unfortunately, I don't think I'm going to be able to make it to Buffalo to see him, but if you can make the drive, it's sunday night and certainly worth the $8 ticket price. My new musical obsession, Hank Williams III, also has a tour coming up and an album coming out. Here's a review of his new album, Straight To Hell. Remember, as Hank III says, if you're going to buy it, don't buy the censored version from Walmart or Hank's record label, Curb. Blender has an interview with Hank III too.

It does a former Buzzsaw executive publisher's heart good to know that a current Buzzsawyer holds Bobby Bare Jr. in high esteem. Fun fact: Buzzsaw was created not long after three of its founders saw Bare Jr. (the pre-YCSL band, that is) at Styleen's Rhythm Palace in Syracuse.

Oh wow, I didn't notice this comment until today. Mr. Bare Jr. was quite the inspiration for three of the current editors while we were putting together our final issue of the fall semester.
The three of us actually went down to Nashville to see Bobby perform at a club owned by Mike Grimes, who played guitar in Bare, Jr. I actually interviewed Bobby, but fucked up my recorder and only got one question on tape.
